wtf moment at the doc's this mornin

If she had a reason for the comment she would have followed up after 'yeah', surely?
Not necessarily, it probably piqued her interest. In my experiences with Doctors/Specialists they generally need prompting for more information.

I imagine it's along the same lines as explaining computer related topics to Joe public. Most people are not particularly interested in the finer details and don't appreciate it if you start going into them voluntarily.

Do you think it's reasonable for a medical professional to instigate the conversion on a patient's unrelated medical history merely because they are interested in it? I wouldn't say so.

It's possibly not unrelated though?

I guess it depends which way you slice it. In the general case: Tendon + muscle aches and strains can be related to hormone imbalance from a thyroid problem. In my case: Since I have been 'stable' for years I have no such imbalance and there is zero relation between them. Especially considering it was established that I was injured playing badminton at the beginning of the appointment.

I get annoyed when I phone for an appointment and the receptionist always asks what is wrong with you. I refuse to answer even though half the time it is just repeat prescriptions or a prescription review.

I bet she thinks I have a STD, every month lol.

in 35 years of making my own appointments I have never had one ask that
