I'm not huge up on CPUs these days - but I thought Xeons were still the workhorse that lead the world. I know all my servers/workstations in the Enterprise world as Xeons.

Don't forget this mac is aimed at the pros who have this sort of money they can burn.
I did chuckle at the rumble of discontentment at the price of $999 for the stand.
