WWDC XIII Event. Tonight 6pm

Safari back and forward gestures are a welcome feature. I've been using that a lot on my jailbreak. Seriously decent update at the moment!

Not sure I like the new tabs in Safari though...

Apple catching up with the rest of the world with iOS. About time too. Been whinging for years about the fact that SBSettings was something they should have implemented years ago.

Homescreen icons look dreadful though.

Mostly looks lovely. Personally think the Messaging and Mail apps look horrible though (sorry, that's just me!). Looking at Safari now, some of it does look a bit...flashy. I just hope they don't go too gimmicky really.

I do hope that Apple introduce some new APIs to open iOS up a bit. If it can bring over some of the basic features from Android (the ability to change default applications, improved sharing etc.) I'll be tempted to move back.

No-one else think that control centre looks a mess?

I think the Android implementation looks way better personally!

Hmmm, so taking stuff from android that has been there for years????

swiping/gestures
control centre
UI looks a wee bit similar in some places to android

etc.

:D :p

It does look better though and they have done more than I was expecting but it still looks very dated/ugly in some places (notification centre, control centre looks like a mess) imo, seems like they have taken the same approach as Samsung and have had kids design the colour scheme/icons :p

Nice upgrade "overall" so far though.

Some of these animations look superb (hopefully they won't affect the battery, I suspect it will be fine).

I'll be happy with all the best bits of Android (or most of them), add that to the already better app store and stability (in my view anyway), and it's nailed on to be great. Not sure about some of the icons and stuff but I can get used to it. :p

Everyone copies everyone else. Just look at E3, Microsoft implementing features Sony have done with the PS3, after Sony copied achievements with their trophies system etc. etc. etc.

It's nothing new.

So what should they do? Ignore the features because android already had them? :p

I can see this update being for iPhone 4S and above phones. Just hope my iPad 3 is supported as its the last iOS device I'm buying.

On the whole iOS7 looks look a good update. Not sure about the home icons - look a little cheap IMO and I'm wondering what the ultra light font will look like on non-retina screens? I'm thinking iPad Mini specifically ... could break up and look messy and difficult to read.

Suppose.....

At least they aren't doing the usual where they make it out like they were the ones who came up with these ideas! (at least not yet........) :p

Exactly! :D
