You can create tags within apps. And then filter them from finder.

As with most Apple enhancements, they're something you've been able to do in one way for a long time on another platform or via another means but they just unify it and make it simpler to do.

Except it's pretty awful on anything but Mac & iOS. LastPass has it beat hands down for cross platform.
