So, ordered a not so cheap sofa from an online retailer and today took delivery, unfortunately there were two sofas received, the delivery note said 4 packages which is what we got but should have only been 2.

Who would keep it/sell it? And who would own up and get on the phone...?

Recently bought a sofa from them and they took the payment 3 times had to call and make sure they refunded it before sending me 3 sets of sofas!

If I remember rightly multiple items sent mistakenly are not classed as unsolicited goods and still belong to the retailer. They will need to decide whether its worth their time to collect it from you.

send them an email or phone them up offering to buy the extra one at half price! or just tell them they can collect it at their own expense.

if they accept, return the full price one for a refund
