Sorry should have re-read what I put

Yeah IE4 was good feature wise, but I remember having and reading horror stories that when installing IE4 under Windows 95, it corrupts the install forcing you to reformat.

I think we all take Windows XP for granted on how stable and reliable it is

I used to love Firefox. But, whether it's right or wrong, there are a fair few sites I use that basically 'require' IE to function correctly - Egg Banking & Outlook Web Access being two.

Given AdMuncher & the IE Mouse Gestures addon combined with IE7's fantastic improvements pretty much do everything Firefox used to do for me, but minus the huge memory leak issues, I have to say I've moved back.
thats just down to bad coding on the part of the site owner.
give it a few months and you'll see even MORE firefox compatable sites.
I must say I use firefox for 99% of things, but when I have to use IE I do.
its not like you CAN'T use both!

True. The Natwest banking site required me to use IE over Opera. I sent them an email asking if they were going to allow Opera users to access the site, and they replied saying it was already in the pipeline. A good sign of things to come if anything :)

This is true. However, I don't like having excess amounts of installed software; it's just a PITA to have to open a different player/browser/app to do what you could do 99% of things in one. That's why I've stuck with IE6, remained vigilant, and then migrated to IE7. It's why I only have 1 media player with a million and one codecs installed! :)

I have used Firefox at work for a long while but I no longer have any desire to use a browser that is, IMO, equalled by IE7 which integrates better. But then, I don't bother with extensions and the like.

Yeah but not required for the right reason. :D

I hear from our web dev chaps that IE7 is a good leap towards better w3c compliance and the such, but still lags behind Opera & FF.
