www.imgburn.com - Unsafe according to Chrome

Using your link I just got this message in Firefox:-

Reported Unwanted Software Page!

This web page at www.imgburn.com has been reported to contain unwanted software and has been blocked based on your security preferences.

Unwanted software pages try to install software that can be deceptive and affect your system in unexpected ways.

Strange as I have also been using imgburn for years and have never seen that before. Maybe the site's been compromised.

I took the plunge and downloaded the program.

Didn't find anything wrong with the site and there didn't seem to be any adware bundled with the installer.

False flag maybe.

Not a false positive.

imgburn site is flagged becase imgburn has contained crappy adware carp in
its installer for last couple of years

I didn't see any today when I installed the application today.

The installer for v2.5.8.0 definitely has 3rd party software bundled with it, as well malware which modifies your browser settings. What you "installed" was hopefully the portable version. If you actually installed from the setup then chances are you've installed the 3rd party software too.

It was flagged because the site had been distributing malware. The installer still comes with a potentially unwanted program.

As above, the main installer has a bunch of adware which you really need to pay attention to during setup. Quite fustrating now.

Open the installer in 7zip and just extract the program files.

This.

You only need the EXE, it works standalone. Shame to see a program pick this method, I'd much rather have a big paypal donate icon during the installer and in the program itself.

I actively donate to freeware projects when possible. I even bought the Priform CCleaner Pro bundle.

As Puppetmaster has said, just go to ninite and create an installer there so you can still get the latest version without any of the pups and the browser alterations.

Downloaded Imgburn today from several sites and found SOME contain adware but not all. Scan the setup first with Malwarebytes and it will say if it contains adware. (Filehippo.com and Majorgeeks.com BOTH have adware included.)

Kaspersky and Malwarebytes both blocked it and requested permission for install to continue.
Or as others suggest use another program. It I hadn't used it for a few years I wouldn't be using it. It's just that I know how it works. :(

Is it really that hard to untick the license agreement for the crap ware? If you do that, you get a perfectly clean install of imgburn.
