I've just received a new X-fi music. my excitement has been dampened though by discovering there are compatibility issues with the medusa 5.1's.
well my headphones work a treat, certainly no probs there. however....
my piggin 2.1 speakers don't work now!
as most of you know the medusa amp box provides a handy breakout for in/out so you can choose between headphones or speakers. its always worked on my audigy2. (RIP)
now though in 2.1 speaker test i get nowt.
in 5.1 and above i get speaker noise but obviously incorrect. also, i need to turn on the medusa amp to hear the speakers. previously i switched on speakers or medusa amp to select whichever.
i've checked the speedlink site which acknowledges problems with X-Fi. it only relates to headphone settings though NOT speakers.
i consider myself lucky i've actually got a fully working set of medusas which sound utterly brilliant with X-Fi and BF2.
i'd like to listen to my 2.1's occasionally though, its not all BF2 ;)
im not willing to replace the medusas as they're so good. anybody know of a fix?
there must be loads of owners of x-Fi's and medusas?

p.s

since the medusa takes all the soundcard jacks and the 2.1 speakers only need sub/central would a splitter box work instead of using the medusa amp??
