The Prelude has finally received the update for Dolby Digital Live and so can at last do what it was supposed to do. Real time encoding of 5.1 sound with EAX output to my amp was what I want to buy the card for but before I do I just want to know if anyone has this card and has tried out the new feature. I can't find an updated review of the card as most sites reviewed it when it was released and then ludicrously panned it for not supporting stuff that they said wasn't supported.

Does it work well? Is it easy to set up? Does it have a discernible effect on game performance?

Thanks.

I've just ordered this card too today, due to the recent release of the Dolby Digital Live drivers, to connect up to my home theatre system.

From the reviews I've read, game performance is meant to improve, as the card takes over with the sound processing, freeing up system resources. No idea whether this new feature will affect performance though

I only noticed the drivers after doing a format yesterday. I used to bluescreen occasionally with the old drivers but I think the problem has finally gone away with these ones. I'm running vista 64.

can some one please confirm something for me regards this card which I own

Is this HDMI a add on that I simply connect to the card I have installed at the minute ?

Or Will have to sell this card and buy the latest one which has HDMI ??

Totally confused

I'm fairly sure that all you'll need is to buy an add in card for the Prelude. I think this is dealt with on the FAQ on the Auzentech site. Why not have a look?
