X-Fi problem?

Hi, I have had my X-Fi replaced once allready for distorted rear channels, anyway I am using Optical atm and I notice on some bass heavy songs slight distortion, hard to notice most of the time but I do notice it.

Also I got it set to 2.1 on the X-Fi and stereo Optical and I am sure I heard some voice still at some points of a song from the rear speakers :confused:

Sounds like more of a problem with the speakers, as the X-Fi can only send a stereo signal over optical (unless it was a pre-encoded source like a DVD)

Oh dear I hope the Z5500's aint dieing again

I am listning to some music atm and having to turn the sub up so I cant hear the slight distortion from the speakers :mad:

It's more than likely going to be the speakers, have you got any sort of upmix modes enabled (i.e. Pro Logic)?

No was in Stereo.

Yea I think it was the speakers, sold the X-Fi now.
