There's also a known issue with Vista64 and 4GB of RAM, remove a stick and see if that fixes it.

No, its not Vista that is having the trouble with BF2142, it couldn't be better infact (belive it or not :p ) Its XP that has the wierd issue. Vista is the one that sometimes has a loud buzz at startup or no sound at all, but this can quickly be solved by just click 'restore default' in the Creative audio console.

Anyway they've now (finally) released drivers for my Xtreme Music that work perfectly in conjunction with Alchemy in Vista x64.

What drivers are you using and what sound card do you have?

Creative have released a CD which you can either order online (you have to pay a nominal charge) or download from a torrent (presumably they weren't prepared to sacrifice the bandwidth). It's about 600MB iirc. It contains a full set of applications and drivers. In conjunction with Alchemy which is available for download free from Creative's website I have my Xtreme Music working perfectly. I'm also running Vista x64 as per my signature.

HTH :)
