X-Fi Titanium, which PC-E Slot ?

Does it matter which PCI-E slot the soundcard goes in or can i have it in any ?
Reason i ask is i was reading on tech guru i think it was that having the soundcard in a higher lane i.e 16x can improve performance.
Any truth to this or am i fine having it in a x1, x4 or x8 ?

Seeing as the soundcard won't saturate the bandwidth of even an x1 slot, AFAIK there isn't any performance boost to be gained from switching to a different slot. The only reason that I would move a soundcard to a different slot is if it was right next to a graphics card.
