Hi Feek
Been tempted to give X-Plane 12 a go, but owned XP11 and some earlier versions and never really got into it, spent a fortune with ORBX especially for XP11 scenery, but time after time and as much as I tried, just found the whole sims clunky interface irritating and dare I say its actual world quite sterile.
I agree, XP series has always had from out of the box the best stock real life flight modelling, especially for light GA type Aircraft, but for me it wasn't enough and after a while I deleted XP 11 from my rig.
As regards FS2020 ... LOL when it first came out and some of the tease videos showed, we could be forgiven this was going to be the perfect sim right out of the box and on day one too, LOL, no way
I do still hold a candle for FS2020 though and enjoy it within its limitations, its going to have a long life span apparently, so hopefully and sooner rather than later the worst of the bugs will be quashed.
HOWEVER ... bought two PMDG products for FS2020 now, namely the DC-6 and the first released 737 600 ... I'm no airliner simmer, but had to see what a quality outfit like that could bring to MS2020, and whilst I've flown them and they seem fine, am no airliner sim enthusiast, but with the usual bugs to be sorted, they seem well regarded?
To put things in perspective here, am no real life PPL but lots of flight time in a real Piper Warrior 3 that I've put use into sim flying and also my sim flying gave me these opportunity's to fly that aircraft at old RAF Kinloss flying club with an experienced pilot who was impressed with my sim knowledge, night hours too ... good times indeed.
But Feek, if you don't know already, A2A have been working hard to get their ACCUSIM working with FS2020 for their soon to be released (at last) Accu-Sim Comanche 250, A2A's new ACCUSIM module will apparently work outside of what the FS2020 sim does and not rely on its flight dynamics, recent word is they want to introduce this tech to XPlane too.
My fingers are crossed
