So today i come home from work to find my Mate bought himself a new copy of Vista Home Premium, he done the upgrade and after a few hiccups it worked...kinda..

After downloading the latest gfx card drivers from ATI and rebooting they don't seem to install and then this lovely message pops up
No ATI Graphics Driver Installed

So we thought ok bad idea to upgrade from XP to Vista so done a clean install and got the drivers downloaded from ATI again only to keep having the same thing happen, so we tryed the warcat drivers and they do exactly the same thing!

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this ?!?

Cheers in advance.

Done a bit of searching on the "Code 43" Message in device manager and found a german website that said to try updating the driver for the AGP Controller.

Followed the directions on doing so, Device manager > System Devices > AGP controller then press update driver.

Then it asked for a reboot so we let it and then horrible lines appeared all over the screen and then it just went blank managed to get in safe mode and done a system restore which took us back to the same issue before of the ATI window popping up saying No ATI Graphics Driver Installed..

Anyone ever had anything like this before ?

Sounds like same problem I get with my mobo which is a ASRock 939Dual-SATA2. Basically, I have to install the latest mobo drivers/updates/etc before I install the graphics card diver. If already installed, its has to be uninstalled & cleaned using a program like Drive Cleaner.

Also make sure he's running latest BIOS ;)
