hey guys just really wanted some advice on buying a mid range G card just gimme some feed bk please im really stuck in deep thought which one X1800XL or 7600GT

I'd say buy neither, and go for a Sapphire X1800XT 256MB instead. 
They're currently daylight robbery at £170 (a mere £10 plus a few quid more than a 7600GT) and will perform the same as a stock 7900GT with the bonus of being able to do shader model 3.0 HDR and antialiasing at the same time.

X1800XL as they clock like mad and you can control core voltage and mem voltage with software, so don't need to use vmods with pencils and resistors like most other cards.
The X1800XL in my sig is running 625/700 which is only 50mhz in terms off memory speed of an X1800XT.
Thats on air too!
Also ATi Tray Tools is an amazing bit of kit to use with ATi Drivers.

x1800xl or x1800xt 256mb would be my first choice.
