X1800XT Power Needs

You might be able to run one on a small hiper.

But i very much doubt it would last long with 4 120 mm fans, a cpu clocked to 2.8 Ghz, two hard drives, a dvd drive and a cd writer...

Plus all the other stuff ive forgotten :p

EDIT : I also said earlier its better to buy a Psu that costs £90 and will last you for years, rather than have to spend £60 each time you want to do a major upgrade

when i bought my x1800xt my dad says the electricity bill has doubled used to be bout a hundred now is over 200, i have no ide because i bought a 32 inch hd lcd tv as well tho
Your dad obviously bought a ton of power tools and electric BBQs and stuff and is using you as a scapegoat to hide his new toys from everyone. ;)

There is no way in hell upgrading a graphics card will double your electric bill, period. In fact it'd be a miracle if you doubled 0.1% of it.

As for the topic at hand, that PSU will be fine, people wildly exaggerate the power draw of graphics cards these days. Unless you're going for SLi/Crossfire you should not need more than 400w. I am running an Akasa 460w myself any my case is utterly full of power-leeching crap.

general electricity costs have gone up. and no way upgrading gfx card double your electricity bill, unless the only device in your house that runs from electricity is the computer.
