x1800xt to ?

The X1800/X1900 cards are still going to chew through games fairly quickly up to and including 1600x1200.

Unless you're really unhappy with performance, it's not worth the upgrade, especially considering the drivers.
 
well i've fitted the zalaman and its nice and quiet , well I have now found out its the rest of system thats the noise !!!


but temps are nice

stock idle was 62c
now idle @ 40

stock load cs-s 1hr 82c
now load cs-s 1hr 50c


superb drop in temps , might have to oc some now.... just rest of case is loud :( but i'm happy as its loud but the high pitched wine has gone.

Welcome to a new world :) It is always like that. You kill one source of noise only to discover another. It is the evil yet interesting loop of getting your PC quiet but still perform and overclock like crazy.

Go play fear and say that... Go play Stalker with full lighting on and say that.. go play oblivion and say that...

Chew through games rofl , yeh sure if you think 40fps and below is acceptable in those types of games with all the eye candy up!

/me heads towards buying a better card
 
I agree. My 7900GT is struggling with current games (COH, Neverwinter Nights 2, Oblivion) at 1680x1050 and things will only get worse. My problem is can I hold on long enough to see what R600 is like?

Must... hang.. on...
