X1800XT v 7900GS

Im looking to build a new computer in the near future which one of these graphics cards would be the best for me to get? I will be overclocking which ever one I got. Which one would you reccomend and why?

X1800XT beats a 7900GT, it will eat a 7900GS for breakfast.

So its worth the extra then? Im sure i read somewhere that the 7900gs overclocks better and when oveclocked out performs the 1800xt, is this true?
