Any ideas anyone? Not had any problems previously and was playing some cod2 earlier today. I'm on the latest patch too, using the omega 6.9's.

I had a very similar problem, it turned out my Asus Mboard was auto-OCing the memory!!

Check everything is at stock and you will soon find its got nothing to do with the ATi card :)

You running a x1900xt too?

Yeah. Mine wasn't overheating, as I was checking the temps and manually changing the fan speeds but that had no effect. As far as I can see everything on my system is stock.

Well I just change the render method from DX9 to DX7 and it no longer happens, weird! Pity it doesnt look as good but I can live with that :)

Hi Guys.

Just thought I would add a another card to the COD2 tearing problem ----Conn3D X1950XTX.

I get this issues also and been trying to work out if this is an RMA issue or not, tried various setting etc and yes DX7 Renderer option fixes this, but why should we have to do this?

Anyway I installed Vista RC2 and installed COD2 and have everyitng up to the max, DX9 seetings also and guess what no tearing at all.

XP dx9 - ATI issues maybe?

And yes have also done a fresh XP install and this does not help either.

SPECS all Stock

P5W DH
E6600
Enermax Liberty - 620w
2gig Corsair 6400
XFI - Fatality
Connect 3D X1950XTX

Hmmm, do you guys run a P965 chipset? Some of the mobos have a gfx overclock feature which doesn't work with X1900 cards.

Thats classic mem tearing tho.

Is that switched on by default?

I also think it is driver related, this issue has been their through 6.8 (install cd), 6.9 (beta), 6.10 (beta) & 6.10 (final).

The only other issues I get with my card are the odd red blob flashing randomly on the screen in Oblivion and on the last snow test on 3d mark 06.

Also in COD2 I have had some of the textures turn green around window frames and door frames etc (very in frequently), apart from that I have had issue free gaming at 1920x1200 max settings

Thanks for the welcome.

Are you getting the stretched polys as soon as you go in to the game, or is it only happening after you've exited (but kept the game running) and then went back in? Becouse I used to get the same thing when using a x1900xt but only after using the windows key to exit for a minute or so. And IIRC the read me file states it's a common problem.

Hi Bizarre,

In my case I get this problem without using the windows key etc.

I can switch the PC on from cold go straight to the game and select a mission that has this issue and is their right away.

I have never been able to play this game on DX9 in XP without tearing on my x1950xtx.

The weird thing is that the issues are not there in Vista.
