hi all...bought a x1900xt from ocuk this week..first ati card...after installing card and reformat etc my pc is coming up with a "cli" command line interface fault and needs to shut down..within the fault window is the ati emblem..guessing the card has a fault of some sort??

please help..

Yeah try the Omega drivers, or just download the display drivers on their own from ATi, and grab ATi Tray Tools for all your AA/AF etc... settings. :)

You can grab ATi Tray Tools here

I never understand this ati driver problem that peope say, i find them far more stable than any nvidia ones i have used, never have any problems with ati drivers at all but i did get grief when i had nvidia card with its drivers.

I download the full pack.

The uninstall it all, then run driver cleaner.

Restart pc, Install new drivers and CCC

Restart again, and then it should be fine :)

The driver is critical. The CCC(Catalyst Control Center) is optional, I believe this is the component that needs .net. It allows for configuring of the card, AA, MIP detail levels, AF and clock speeds etc. There are 3rd party tools that also provide access to these functions. I am not familiar with the details of these 3rd party tools, I am happy with CCC.

If you want to use CCC to control your card you must ensure that .net is installed on your system. If you are unsure, then download and install .net from the ATI driver page. There is no problem installing .net more than once if already installed, it may correct any files that maybe missing from a previous install.

You can just download the display drivers on their own, and use ATi Tray Tools instead of the CCC to do all your AA/AF settings as i said above, doesn't need the .NET for that, and you should'nt get a CLI error, as thats something to do with the CCC, and the .NET which you won't have. :)
