X1900XT - NFSMW

I've upgraded my whole machine and all works well until I try and run NFSMW. It stutters constantly whilst playing and I can't seen to fix it. I've run fraps to see the frame rate and generally it runs at 50-60 fps @ 1280*1024 will everything on. It even shows 60fps whilst stuttering so I know it's not graphics related. I've read that dual core cpus don't run well with this game and you have to temporarily disable 1 core using task manager / affinity etc. but this doesn't help. I've installed the dual core hotfix and AMD driver again to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem and can anybody recommend a solution. I can run Quake 4 @ 1280*1024 will eveything on and it rarely drops below 60fps.

had the same problem mate, i changed drivers to solve the problem. (went back to 6.4's)
