X1900XT RAM speed ?

Probably a daft question.....

I have read that 'some' XTs appear to have 1.1ns RAM instead of slower speed chips......like the XT-X (?).......so, how can one establish this or is it really just inferred from overclock success ?

Youd have to take the heatsink off and look at the ram chips, if the text on the chip ends in 11 then its 1.1ns 12 then its 1.2ns.

I've got 1.1ns on my XT but it does'nt clock as well as the XTXs ,can only get it to 820 on the memory so far.

So it just shows that getting the 1.1 chips does'nt mean they will clock really well

Thanks, Guys, looks like I may leave sink removal at this time......perhaps if and when a pretty Zalman comes my way
