After 2 days I thought some tweaking had stopped this happening. I start PC and it works fine for a few minutes at desktop then graphic glitches and I need to restart. Then its fine even in high intensity games.
Then again it happened. I think its the card.
Thoughts?

mine has a strange coldbug below say 25 degrees. If its colder than that i get a garbled screen,

i literally have to keep restarting every morning until it warms up, its most perculiar.

Tom

Cold bugs are due to the resistors letting too much voltage through due to the better conductivity of materials used at lower temperatures.

Most probably a manufacturing error or dodgy resistors or caps.

Mines okay down to 10C  Thats what ATi Tool reports as my lowest ever Ambient Temp, 18C Core, thats at 2D clocks and 35% fan speed

Weird. Mines a Sapp X1900XT too.

If it really is this faulty then i'm sure you got a great case for an RMA :)

jeez you in the arctic !!!!

I have decided to contact overclockers direct. Sadly I cannot find my invoice or order number. I hope their record keeping is better than mine :o

I have a weird 1900XT also, cant think of the actual brand though

It loads the initial bios screen, and then for the whole "windows loading" section Dell 2005 states " no signal" until the blue "desktop" appears.

From then on it runs ok. This does seem to be a cold boot issue, on restarts its perfectly ok. Strange huh?
