X1900XT-X Graphics Problem - HELP

Exactly a month ago 27th Feb, I bought this Connect 3D X1900XT-X, since friday I have had multi coloured lines going vertical in EverQuest constantly, thinking it was just a problem with this game, I tried Wolfenstein:ET that was even worse, I was using Cat 6.2 so I tried 6.3's & still the same, tried enabling Vert Sync as well as off etc.

Is this an Rma job, a week with no pc nightmare - wonder if they will let me order a new one paying postage including buying other stuff?

Could it be something else causing it, everything is fine on 2D i.e Windows Desktop, Microsoft Word etc.

See pics below....

Well, I got an Rma sorted this afternoon - so I will be without my pc for a week now, just curious Connect 3D cards arent cheaper because they dont go through same quality control or anything are they? it just worrys me that a card that is exactly 1 month old is knackered already - no overclocks etc, looking at it with a sensible attitude I'm guessing it was just bad luck 1 in 100 or whatever.

Also when I did the Rma I did ask if I made an order for a new card - yes paying delivery costs & adding on an opteron 170 + OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC4000 Dual Channel Platinum Series EB but the guy at OcUK said they woudnt be able to do that, I do understand that they have to test the old card etc, I used to work as a buyer in a purchasing dept when anything went wrong with breakers, contactors etc we used to buy another one & be credited for the faulty ones once the rma was recieved, I'm just wondering if any person can tell me why this cannot be done with my faulty graphics card.

It's not nice having no pc while they part in question is tested, I had a faulty Asus A8N-Sli Premium turned out to be a duff PCI-E slot & had to wait a week including weekend i.e monday to monday for this, was just thinking I could have a quicker turnaround thats all.

On the good side of things, it just means I dont spend money on some low latency ram & new dual core cpu to the value of £560 which would have been in OcUK's favor! next upgrade probally 18 months away now.

Not the slightest of a rant, just abit gutted - hopefully if someone from OcUK can explain how things work, would be very greatful.

Thanks,

Thats good positive news then, it was my 1st Connect3D card, I had an MSI X800XT PE for 18 months & it's still running fine in a mates PC.

God this absolutly sucks! why wont they let me! I was going to do good business in there favor letting them having a £560 order? :( :(

Think I'll use my initiative - ring through to sales this time instead of customer support & explain what I want to do, maybe the techie's dont deal with it in that much detail?

I have a connect 3d 1900 xt mastercard and 1900xtx, have not had any problems thus far.......

Well just to update for anyone interested...

I rang the shop up & they said they will refund me the Connect 3D card once its been returned, I made an order for a few things bought a HIS X1900XT-X & the graphics are running great again, so it was definitly the other card that was screwed.

Cheers,
