x1900xtx and css

not too sure if this goes here or in games, move if necessary admins.

Just installed css on my new rig and its abit jerky. im using x1900xtx, some ppl say its driver issues, any1 else getting same thing?
 
well from what ive read the current drivers are rubbish for the X1900 cards so it is probably the drivers. should be sorted in a future release if it is
 
Do you mean like a stuttering kind of effect? Not really like lag or anything else, if so then its just the engine. A lot of people get this from time to time, myself included. Source engine has a lot of problems.
 
Nope its different, hard to explain what i mean. It will come and go during a single session, and sometimes its triggered at certain points in the map.

What's your fps' like?
Currently there are so many people reporting problems with really bad performance, no matter how good computers they are having.
One of the known problems are the steam.exe using 50% processor power all the time.
Valve has not really commented on anything, eventhough the steam forum is filled with people complaining.
Let's hope they start sorting out all these problems instead of constantly adding new stuff, that brings out new errors.
There isn't really any pattern about who is affected, allthough it looks like most people are running p4 rigs..

Ive got a x1900xtx i had ago at stress test and got 174fps and my css gaming is fine, except i find i plant more bombs if my fps is 180 so i have problems too ;)

Didnt the cl_smooth get sorted a long time ago? fps_max is also already set to 300 by default. It could be the cpu making it struggle in certain areas what cpu do you have?
 
i done all of this

css stress test i scored 132fps on max settings.
in game my fps is always above 100.
what settings does every1 use?
do you use ansiotrophic x16?
 
a lot of people get the random pauses your getting, does it occasionaly just stop you and you cant move then come back after about 3 seconds? and it shows all your guns on the right as if you've just bought them again?

happens to me about 2-3 times a match, got me killed once or twice but ive no idea what causes it, i found that turning AA and AF on makes it happen even more even though FPS is over 100 :/
 
ive just pld a match and it was smooth as silk, so smooth, no stutter or jerkiness at all. Dont know what it is :S im going to try and start from low settings and then increase each on up one by one and try and see what causes it.
