In regards to this thread:

**I WOULD NOT USE THE ATi TOOL CLOCKING DEVICE - IT DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY ON X1x00 series cards **

So, as normal, raise the core by 10Mhz, test it. Once it artifacts, go back to the Voltage Control, raise the VGPU by one step. 1.325 I think it is.

Test again - I would not go over 1.4V for 24/7 use - others have used 1.5V for major overclocking.

**EDIT** After further investgation, the Stock core Voltage is 1.4V so 1.45V 24/7 or 1.55V for max clocks

Once you have found your max core - either personal choice or card limits, drop it back by a MINIMUM of 10Mhz, if this allows a voltage decrease, decrease the voltage to where it was stable and back the mhz down by 5Mhz.

Now, memory!

Same as with the core, raise by 10Mhz, test etc. Once you reach a stage where it artifacts, lower the MVDDC by 0.020 ruffly, test at the last stable speed, now try raise by 10Mhz again. Keep lowering the voltage until you find your perfect speed, again - drop it down 10mhz from its max clocks.

How do I go about doing the above? ^^

Is it in BIOS or what?!

I currently have clocked the X1900XTX to 648/774

Don't want to go any higher till I have sorted the above!

Cheers

Beta 14 will work fine with the x1900 series. I've been using it on my XTX and I've found that the tighter timings you get uting ATI Tool are more beneficial than the increased bandwidth and slacker timings you'd get with Overclocker.

with ati tool, as described in the clocking guide????

Load ATi Tool, make a new profile. Call it stock.

Click settings, from the drop down menu, go to Fan Settings, set this how you want to run 24/7 - if you are going for full out clock, force 100%, then save it to the the profile stock.

Move down to Voltage settings, set VGPU at 1.3V. Press Apply and then save to the profile stock.

Now go back to the clocks page. Set clocks at:
X1900XT: 625/725
X1900XT Crossfire: 625/725
X1900XTX: 650/775

Apply, then save to the profile stock.

Now run a game/benchmark/whatever - this is JUST to test everything has been set correctly.

Now, I would STRONGLY recommend you start clocking the core.

Taken from the very page you linked to

theres two big sliders on ATI TOOL

and i mean, they are 50% of the interface

so use them

or you on about volts?? in which case you should have done that when you did the bit i quoted
