x1950 pro quick question.

i have seen them run on some decent branded 400w power supplys. i would get a 500w+ depending on the system you have.

system is:

amd athlon x2 3800+
2gb ram
not sure about motherboard
to the mo i have a x1300 so obviouse why i need the upgrade :(

Oh and the reason i ask is that i have a 300w because its a off the shelf pc because it was REALLY cheap at the time with discount and staff discount ect, i want to be able to play the crysis beta even on low if needed, but just wondered what psu i would need, but dont have much cash to lash if you get me.

Not too sure about the difference in power consumption between agp and pci-e cards, but I just put my old x1950 pro 512mb agp card in an Antec Cube and it works just fine on the 26amp 300W mini PSU that comes with the case.

works just fine on the 26amp 300W mini PSU that comes with the case.
from what i've seen it appears to be the ampage thats more important than the wattage of the power supply, would make sense if u have a 26a connection for it.

so long as its a solid psu and it has around 26A on the 12v line it should be fine, have a look at the cheaper psu's and check the manufacturers website for details would be the best bet.
