x1950 problem

after playing oblivion for 2 mins. temps increase from 43 idle to 60 degrees... is that normal?

Issues are cured when a case fan is placed underneath the card. The fan will still run at full pelt midway thru a game of Oblivion for example but will not hang.

Maybe its just a driver issue with Vista64. Any help with this would be appreciated especially someone with vista64.

Have you tried it on XP yet? Im having a problem with my new 1950pro with black screen crashes and curruption. Running 7.1 drivers but also tryed 6.1

not tried yet on XP and have been unable to use ATI tools.

At least its playing oblivion now.

the 6.12drivers are the best for the x1950pro at the moment, I was gettign artifacting etc in the 7.1's but not in the 6.12's

Yep, this is backed up in the official thread. Why would they release drivers doing this nonsense?

Yes it looks to have disappeared for now, I am sure the performance would be better in xp with 6.12 drivers

Good to hear mate the 7.1's are a bad set of Drivers IMO

Where did you get them from?

They installed with Catalyst 7.1. So install Catalyst 7.1, then uninstall the Catalyst software - leaving the drivers.

I'm using the latest Omega Drivers without problems. I much prefer them as they seem to be quicker.
