Hi, running ATI CCC overdrive but my GPU is showing a heat of 88 when this is run, obviously need to bring the temps down

Can anyone recommend a cooler that I can fit??

Thanks

I put the first Of Loadsamoney's suggestions on a 6800GT, its a good cooler (quite quiet too).

edit: Yes they are quite easy to fit. Certainly the Zalman was.

Have you checked fitting/thermal paste on the core? Perhaps apply a fresh thin new layer, and see if temps improve (my x1900xt had half of the core exposed with no paste at all)

I put the uprated version of the first of Loadsamoney's suggestions (this) on each of the cores of my GX2. Load temps at stock (500/600) were nearly 80 degrees using the factory cooler but with these babies the load temps with the card overclocked @ 603/833 dropped to 40 degrees! Awesome coolers!

Incidentally, the only difference between mine and the one Loadsamoney suggested is rpm speed! Mine can go to 3600rpm while those max out @ 2400rpm. I run them from an Akasa Jr fan controller at just over tick over so they're running at about 1600rpm. I could have saved a little cash and got the standard version but i didn't know they would perform that well before i bought them!

i was looking at a new cooler mainly due to the fact of the whirring noise you get from the standard one whilst playing games.

i do like the zalman stuff but i like the idea of the exhaust on the standard that extracts it out the back of the case.

did you notice anything else getting warmer in the case when you used the zalman??
