X1950XTX anyone?

hmmm do you reckon that 2 of these in crossfire would massivaly outperform my X1900's? outperform them enough to justify buying them??? or do you reckon im alright until the second gen of DX10 cards?

Hi there

Its the ICEQ3 cooler the same as what HIS already use on their cards. :)

Its quieter, exhaust the hot air out of your case and makes less noise. :)

so basically what it is then is just an x1900xt with the his cooler and gddr4

so that means my HIS x1900xt is just basically an x1950xt without the gddr4

Look wise - very, very impressive. Can't wait to see some real reviews of it when it's released! :)

Those coolers sure indeed look tasty. Think I'll hold off now after seeing this.
I really like the one Raikiri posted.

coolers lok cool....but still looks like the same HOOVER fan that the 1900's have at present. Hopefully they run a bit cooler and quieter....then well have an outright winner for single card.

It's using smaller 80nm transistors so possibly there's some more head room in the overclocking department, but nobody knows yet. Could mean it's cooler too, but again nobody knows for certain as it's not out yet. Should find out soon though :)

I'll be sticking with my X1900XT-X as I can't afford even if I wanted too. Luckily it's plenty fast enough :)

They are a lot quieter, in fact almost silent.

So the X1950 XTX will be a winner, it will run cooler, have higher clock speeds and GDDR4 technology too, should be a quick card. :)

since its being manufactured now on the 80nm process its gonna run cooler, consume less power and cost less to manufacture. this is exactly what ati needs.

im guessing that its core will come clocked higher than the x1900xtx so i tink it will be around 700-750mhz ish. and the gddr4 shoudl give it more memory bandwidth, not sure exactly how much since it depends on clock speed and interface size, which is usually 256bit.

Must admit that does look tastey. But my x1900xtx will just have to do me for a year or so. One thing that Gibbo might be able to answer, does that cooler fit a x1900xtx and if it does, can you get any. I have allways wanted ax1900xtx cooler that vented outside the case.

Quote a guy from the link:

ATI comes up with GDDR4 (cause that's the only thing that makes it better than X1900XTX, wich is lower latencies and OC-ing). It's basically a superclocked card, struggling to achieve the number one spot.

If the card wouldn't have been able to defeat 7950GX2, then X1950XTX would have been a CANCELLED PROJECT. But it's not, so you can be sure it's a succes. The rule is simple. The last one card launched is always better. Pure Logic.

^ That pretty much sums up + the cost attached to the card im sure. :)
