x2 3800 Owners - OC's

ok spluff will update yours next time just missed it hehe :)

Well Sculptor has taken the lead, as just gonna say wanted to see what some people were hitting on water cooling, temps look nice! Ran sisoft sandra 2005 arithmetic on mine and scored :

22489 MIPS
10220 MFLOPS

so not too shabby, was ahead of all the other x2 cores in comparisons.

Gonna go for 2.7ghz tonight and see if i can get it stable @ 1.5 v :)

8 hrs prime should be enough

Temps are 39c idle 54c load :)

Good luck with that, not managed to stay in windows at 2.7 for more than a few secs tbh, even with >1.5V. I think my mobo is holding me back though, won't post with 290+ HTT so I can't lower my multi and get my RAM to run at a decent clock above 2.5ghz anyways :S

managed to get stable at 2650 but i'm not including it because it's not what i'd run at full time anyways ;)

OK, here's where I'm up to at the moment with my X2 3800 -

2500MHz
HTT 250
2Gb OCZ 3200 Platinum 208 FSB @ 2-3-2-5 1T
Vcore 1.5V
HT 4X
Manchester core
Cooler SI120 with Akasa Ultra Quiet fan
Prime stable 10hrs @ 2400, appears stable @2500 (not Primed)
M/B Abit AV8 3rd Eye

ok, my 3800+ X2 - Ram is on a 1/2 divider (running at 135mhz) at the mo, just to test CPU alone (timings for info anyway - 2-3-2-5)

CPU details.

manchester core
running @ 2.7Ghz
270 FSB
10 multi
vcore 1.5 + auto
HTT = 3
Cooler = XP-120 + delta 4000rpm fam :D
temps - 23-26C idle, 38C under load of 24 hrs
stable - prime, snm, folding, video encoding, superPI, OCCT. so yes :D

will see if it will pass higher over weekend, then will get RAM to a decent speed

:D how does your asus compare?

2nd place huh? will have to try for 275 later on. just finishing off a video encode at the moment tho :)

p.s my mobo is the ultra-d

hehe put you down as 2nd coz you said your Vcore was 1.5 + Auto when i need to know whether it's above or below Sculptors 1.54 ;) also your RAM is at such a low clock that his is undoubtedly better performance atm.

My mobo is not so good for overclocking, fine for a nice mild overclock but lacks options, 3V max on RAM, 1.55 max Vcore, craps out and won't POST when HTT is above like 280 even with a lower multi, otherwise just fine :)

aw man, my CPU doesnt like going above 273 :(. total lock up then. not going to mess around with changing multis tho.

got my ram upto 180/360 now. any higher and that locks too in memtests, think i will have to loosen the timings - right now they're 2-3-2-6 (ballistix pc4000)

have you tried loosing them back to stock (3-3-3-8?) and running them 1:1?

Some people have managed to get their ballistix doing 1:1 at even 300HTT so if your stuff is good you might be able to do 1:1 at 270 :)

thought about it, will try that tomorrow probably. just making sure its stable as is tonight to finish off a video encode i plan to leave overnight.

will report back after changing to 3-4-4-8 :)

Ive had my Manchester for a couple of months now, it would do 2.5Ghz on stock volts so I figure its a good one. :D
Got it to 2.7Ghz running F@H (single client on each core) 24/7 so its as stable as it can get.
System specs:
A64 3800+ X2 Manchester Core @ 1.54v, Idle 30c Load 45c
DFI NF4 Ultra D
2x512Mb Geil One @ 6-2-2-2 1T
ATI X300
Tagan 480w
Maxtor 80Gb
Samsung CD/DVD Combo
Cooling Astec Waterchill Antartica single 120mm Rad.
Im running a 180 divider on the ram so its at 245.5Ghz, 3.2v
HT is at 3x.
Sisoft Sandra 2005 shows it to be the fastest processor, with:
ALU 22538 MIPS
FPU/iSSE2 8479/10978 MFLOPS.
This is with F@H still running so the results are probably down a bit.
Guess it would probably beat an FX57 in a lot of games, those that take advantage of two cores.
TOM. :)

UPDATE!
CPU now at 2.75Ghz with ram at 250Mhz 6-2-2-2 1T

Voltages:
CPU 1.58v
LDT Bus 1.26v
NB 1.69v
DRAM 3.37v

Temps: Idle 32c, Load 48c Running F@H 24/7

Sisoft Sandra 2005: CPU Score:
ALU 23224 MIPS
FPU/iSSE2 8716/11287 MFLOPS

Super-Pi:
----------------Core 1-----------------------------Core 2-----------------
1M-----------00m 31.781------------------------00m 31.735---------------
2M-----------01m 12.922------------------------01m 12.938---------------
4M-----------02m 38.156------------------------02m 37.890---------------
8M-----------05m 47.000------------------------05m 47.422---------------
16M----------13m 03.406------------------------13m 03.671--------------
32M----------28m 30.594------------------------28m 33.938--------------

Im not sure itll go much higher on water-cooling.
Ive got a cold boot issue with the system, think it might be the power supply, once Ive sorted it out Ill hook it up to the Vapochill, see if itll go to 2.8Ghz+
Tom. :D

Nice. :D

still trying to get above 273 on mine. Stable as anything @ 2.7 per core tho. left snm/superPI/memtest and F@H on overnight and was still running - albeit dog slow in the morning.

want to get to 2.8/9 so will probably leave RAM running low just to get more out of the CPU

I will beat you sculptor :D (although i'm not going phase :o )

Running mine at 210 x 10 on default volts, with a xp120 and 120mm vantec, and its been on all day and its at 26 degrees, i should push it some more i guess.

What should i be aiming for ? its on a msi k8n neo 4 board ? with some corsair cl2 pro stuff.

table updated, need more info from you max powah though you're making it look ugly with ?'s :)

Yeah if you wanna run your chip higher you should try running your RAM on a divider or you'll find it will stop you clocking too high.

ok mate, the voltage is now at 1.425, i am not sure of what type of core it is, but it was one of the first ones on ocuk, so i am guessing its a manchester, the fan is a vantec stealth 120mm, and the ht frequency and ram timings i havent changed yet.

edit: checked cpuz and it is a e6 revision, but it says manchester, so its a toledo ?

yeah your core is a toledo, I highly recommend you drop your ht frequency down to 3x or 4x as at 5x 210 it's at 1050 when it needs to be kept below 1000 really. alos i'd drop you ram to a divider to take it out of the equation for now.
