x2 4200 Not POSTing

Have a problem at work, we have an order for 8 PCs with the spec below, 4 have been built. The PCs wont POST with the X2's in the case, they sometimes work on the motherboard tray bridging the pins, but not in the cases, even bridging the pins. The strange thing is they work with single core processors, and motherboard has power to it with no CPU but is dead with it in.

We have tried swapping around 6 motherboards, 6 processors and 6 PSUs, motherboards have latest BIOS, and we are at a loss. We are ordering a different motherboard to try on Tuesday, hopefully people on here will have some ideas.

If it works out of case but not in then it sounds like board is shorting but then it wouldnt work with single cores either. The only thing i can think is a power problem. I know its obvious but you have plugged all the power cables into the board - 20pin, 4pin and also pci lead to graphics card?
Also is there anything extra plugged in when its inside case such as a hard drive etc?

Also what have you set the ht to as that motherboard (original ones anyway) have a max of 800 (4x) rather than 1000 (5x). Id put it at 3x no matter what

Have the 24 pin and 4 pin connected, have tried with and without PCI cable, we have even tried with a PCI graphics card, nothing else is plugged in as we disconnected everything else to make sure it wasn't that preventing them booting.

It's a good point about the HT though I will try that tomorrow.

Doubt it can be the ht. Its really weird that it works out of case on tray and not inside case and is only the case with the dual core

Yes, the motherboard wouldn't fit without them.
