X2 owners - dual core patch?

I've had an X2 3800 for a while now, working perfectly and OCed nicely.

However, a post on here a few days ago reminded me of the AMD X2 patch for download on their website. So, have you installed it for your PC and has it actually done anything for you (apart from the cool'n'quiet rubbish - which I've disabled anyway ). Should I bother doing this, considering that I don't have any problems as it is?

I might give it a try - I like asking for trouble

I recently installed COD2 and experienced jerkiness at my default resolution but put it down to aging graphics (X800 GTO). Might give it a go and see if I see any difference.

Anyone else?

Thanks for the replies people! I think I'll give it a go this evening - and if it goes wrong, I can always do a system restore or roll back the driver.

I've done it now, with no problems. Haven't noticed any major differences in or out of games tbh. But hey, if its the AMD driver, it will be better than the windows one anyway and hopefully, will stop any errors that may have jumped up on me in the future.
