OK can someone help this SSD Noob out, i have the X25-M 80GB, updated to the latest firmware which enables TRIM right? installed toolbox and ran the optimizer? but i keep hearing people say "have you ran TRIM" or "i have run the TRIM command" am i missing that? have i done this in the toolbox,

????

The optimiser will do a manual trim on the drive (with the latest firmware), so yes you have. Although Trim will currently only run automatically if you're using windows 7 and the native microsoft controller driver, rather than the intel driver. So you might have to keep manualling trimming the driver to keep it optimal.

OK so when i run the optimiser TRIM runs yeah? i have not installed the any drivers for my intel so should be using the win7 ones

If you're running in IDE or ACHI mode using using the default windows drivers then the built W7 trim should be working and you won't need to use the toolbox for triming, if you're in RAID mode or have Intel Matrix Storage Manager installed then built in W7 trim won't work and you'll have to use toolbox to trim the drive.

Hello!

To get Intel's SSDs TRIM running automatically by itself, it's the "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller" driver that is the native microsoft controller drivers for Windows 7 that is needed for TRIM to run automatically??? and can anyone tell me why Intel's own drivers don`t work for this???

Thanks for responding.
