X360 disc unreadable!

I've recently got 99nights and I'm receiving a mass amount of errors stating that the disc is unreadable during random points of play. I was also getting allot of the same from Dynasty warriors 5. Both games were brand new! And never scratched or dirty.

I've called Xbox tech and after the guy hummed a few times he cut me off! So I’m just wondering if anyone gets the same error "This disc is unreadable" It’s really frustrating as I can't progress in my games or play without the fear of it bombing. :(
 
Try moving/reorientating the console so it is on an absolutely level surface, and move it so its well ventilated (even if you think that its well ventilated now).

If the problems still persist then it could be a return job.

lol, just what you wanted to hear :(

I just bought one of those cooling units for my 360 as it appeared to be getting hot. I am not sure if it will be any good, when it gets delivered I will report back with my findings :)

I had the exact same problem, discs not being read despite being brand new and in perfect condition. Unfortunately in my case it only got worse over time, to the point where it didn't read any game (but still read dvd's). You can either try and ignore it and hope it never gets worse (which is what I tried to do), or deal with it pretty soon.

I would recommend getting back in touch with Microsoft, they will arrange for someone to pick it up for it to be repaired. Mine was replaced rather than repaired, they picked it up on the monday and the replacement was here by friday.
 
Yeah i've been wishing it would go away but its happening more and more. After doing a tiny bit of googling some people beleive it to be a fault in the samsung drive firmware. I'm ringing support back now and telling them I've tried more games. Oh and that I put the console into PAL 60 lol as they suggested. :p
 
Well looks like its going in for repair now! although he stated it would take up to 3 weeks for it to be returned! Hope not as I've got 3 Pre-orders! :(
 
Had the same problem since friday, but i'm also getting the white screen of death that says, 'To play this disk, put it in an xbox 360 console'. :o

Contacted microsoft and it's going in for repair. The guy said it could take up to 15 days. :(
 
It seems that 360's are more in repair than being played! (Microsoft for ya) Sorry for all that are having trouble hope they solve this problem asap as its a great console! (for todays standards)
 
This will be my third 360! I just hope now its third time lucky, i'm not that bothered but its just a pain having to mess around returning etc. :(

and me, mines a October 2005 batch, one of them thats supposed to go wrong if by all the failures people had on xbox.com
