X55 Rhino setup

Hi I have just got my new X55 Rhino but just wanted to check how people setup the stick for games, Elite, DCs and FSX, just not sure whether to setup the buttons on the saitek software or not bother with it and just use the in game setup. Also am I right in thinking that if I use a saitek game profile this could conflict with any in game settings? great bit of kit though.

Hi there - I understand that Elite Dangerous has a default profile for the X55 - indeed that is what I have seen from reviewing the game's Reddit.

Incidentally, may I ask you when you ordered your X55? I ordered mine on Christmas Day with a next day delivery (when it was shown as having 11 in stock), was expecting delivery today, only to be told that OCUK had "oversold" their stock, which is incredibly disappointing.
 
I ordered Christmas eve, expected delivery today but got it on Saturday. Bad news about the delay but probably because the price was so good and popular
 
I just use the game control bindings rather than the software. It works for me so far and I have never had problems.
 
I've only used the game bindings as well. Elite's default X-55 setup is OK for a start, but it leaves loads of your buttons unused so it's worth exploring adding some more controls to it.
