Just updated my bios via usb drive and now get 4 post beeps with one being longer than the rest. It boots straight into the desktop and there's no option to get into the bios, just black screens when I hit the delete key. Only changes I made after the update were turning on my xmp profile and enabling resizeable bar. Any ideas about how to get back into the bios?

this is the beep code result for what your explaining, but if you get into the bios you may be able to fix it: https://www.google.com/search?q=gig...g2MzA0ajBqMagCALACAQ&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Assuming you're using Windows 10 or 11, goto settings > system > recovery > advanced startup > restart now

When you get to the blue screen select Troubleshoot > Advanced > UEFI Firmware settings > restart, and it should reboot back to the bios, disable fastboot

I can game as normal which should mean the GPU is working? That restart didn't work for me but if I take out the cmos battery i might be able to get in. If I do get in what can I do from the bios to correct it? The last time I was in there it said something like bios has been updated, set the desired settings and then just started with the 4 beeps instead of the usual one. I surely can't just ignore it even though it it does boot into the desktop? I've got a new gpu coming next week so this ***** is a disaster. Maybe should try a different bios update if I can get back into the bios

You need to have a look at the GPU settings in there somewhere, its hard to tell without the rest of your specs, it could be beeping referring to onboard graphics, which you can just disable in the bios, also check that its running at the correct bus, so Gen4 or Gen3 etc, disable CSM if enabled.

Which CPU ? which bios did you update too ?

I have a 3700x. I updated to the f40d. It was the newest bios version available. I can hear after the update that the fans are going up and down more. That's a CPU thing I think as it's going up and constantly in speed and the fans are matching it. There's some setting in the bios that I need to change to make the CPU stop going up and down in speed?

Might be worthwhile re-flashing BIOS, I'd use the Q-Flash Plus method.

Switch power supply off. Clear CMOS using the jumper on motherboard or remove the battery. Turn on power supply, use Q-Flash Plus.

Page 15 of manual, item 18 shows the clear CMOS jumper, page 23 has info on Q-Flash Plus.

You dont want to change the CPU boosting, thats a good thing that its boosting, what you can do is change the fan curves so that the fans arnt speeding up and slowing back down at the slightest change in CPU temperature, so in simple, the way I set mine up is from 0 degrees C to about 60 degrees C on the CPU, I have the fans running at a constant speed, for me thats about, barley audible but still moving a decent amount of air, then from 60C to say 90C you want them ramping up to cool the sucker down, so at 90C you pretty much want the fans running between 90% and 100% depending on which cooler you're using, then finally average out the curve (Linear) between 60C and 90C for the other fan curve points.

So for me and my fans that looks like this, my fans are software controlled not bios controlled, but the curve is the same thing either way

What was your previous BIOS version - just out of curiosity!?

My previous version was f4. That was down as sometime in 2019.
