x570 - Why is my latency so 'high'

Running TridentZ RGB as per below settings, on Gigabyte Aorus x570 Xtreme

I thought 3733MHz was the best speed for memory on Zen 2 as you still run at 1:1 on the infinity fab? I was expecting latency in line with this slide:

But it looks like mine might be running at 2:1 mode? As it's nearer 80ns.

Is there any way to actually check?

Go in to the BIOS and manually set the FCLK to 1866MHz. See if that changes anything.

Also I would indeed use the dram calc to get better timings both for primary and secondary.

At my current speed my latency is 66ns according to Aida64 for reference.
 
The way the x570 Xtreme BIOS works is that you set memory speed such as:

36.00 = 3600Mhz
37.33 = 3733Mhz

If I try and select 37.30, it changes it to 37.33 anyway

How should I change it?

luck of the draw on that one.

you can try and tweak vddg to stablize, but I think in general it either boots and works, boots and windows fails within minutes...or it doesnt boot.

I seem to handle 1900 without any tweaks...but it gets a little warmer...so keep at 1866 (or 1867 I can't remember..its a half number I think to get to 3733).
 
Yea, you need to find out what your max stable FCLK is before you set your memory to match it.

I found no amount of volts to VDDG of VDDP helped with FCLK stability. 1800MHz is all my chip will do stably.

Find what yours will do and then use the calculator to work out the timings for your memory at 2 x your max stable FCLK.

I leave my SOC on auto which is 1.1v

The way I have mine set up which seems to work is use the primary and secondary timings form the calculator and set the dram voltage.

Set your FCLK manually.

No need to fiddle with any of the other voltages. They did nothing for me.

Test your overclock using the dram calc. 400% about 80% of ram.

Then game on it. If it freezes or crashes, bump the voltage 0.1v

Keep doing this until it stops crashing.

Oh also all the other stuff about ProcODT and RTTNom etc etc I leave all that on auto. Didn't make a blind of difference.

I left everything else on auto, including Geardown mode and power down mode. Disabling them just made me unstable.

So essentially the only voltage I change is dram voltage.

After you have 400% passed in the dram calc memtest if you have BFV try playing that for a few hours. I find BFV is VERY good at finding any instability. If it freezes etc.. just bump the dram voltage 0.01v and try again.
