X58 and a 2500k CPU?

Your CPU does not fit in a socket 1366 motherboard.

The 2500k uses 1155 pins and the X58 chipset requires a cpu which is 1366 pins, ie the 920 cpu

(Your sig is too big max of 4 lines of text)

If the motherboard is an X58 and the CPU is a 2500K then it simply wont work.

Your motherboard can't be the model you show in your sig.

Well spotted that man :)

Oh dear, thanks everyone for noticing my little error, the mobo is indeed a Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD4...whoops! I've updated la sig :)

Ahh good, that PC will work now :p

As a side note, you need to keep your sig cut down to a maximum of 4 lines so as to adhere to the forum rules.

Oh thank goodness, I built it 2 years ago, only now has it sprung into life ;)

Sig is sorted now - but do let me know if you think it still contravenes overclockers forum regulations :)

Image sigs have to be a maximum size of 400 x 75 like mine, yours is currently 413 x 87. :p

And three cheers for the re-born PC! :D

Your sig is still the same size for me

Please dont run away because of the frustration :( I promise you you'll like it here if you re-re-fix it and stay :D

I was going to suggest you F5, but I didn't want to insult you! :) I did the lazy boy thing and just over-wrote the file, ho hum!

I did refresh to make sure! (thats how I saw your post after all ;)) Maybe there was just a delay. :p

They also have to be below 10KB, unfortunately yours is 12KB.

Just kidding, the limit is 20KB

Just go the technical route - write on a post-it how much you'd like, then stick it to the screen. Disclaimer: Window minimising may cause confusion
