I have X670 Aorus Elite, and most of the time when I restart the PC. Say after a driver update or you have just turned it off and forgot to do something and need to turn it back on it just hangs when it's doing the bios checks and go's no further. I originally thought it was doing the memory checks, but it just stops and does nothing else. I have even left it for an hour after the problem occurred, to see if it was the system doing the memory check and it did nothing. I have used 2 different memory kits on it, G.Skill Trident z5 6000 cl32 expo and Kingston Fury Beast 6000 cl40 which are on the motherboard QVL and they both have the same problem. Even reinstalled windows and used a different graphics card and the problem still happens. Update the bios multiple times and it is currently on the latest bios, reset the bios to the stock optimal settings and still the fault happens.

Also if I turn the PC off for say 20 minutes after having this problem, then turn it back on it boots up fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

If not I'm going to look into RMA with the supplier.

Had a quick look (page 18 status LEDs) and should be 4 LEDs right of the memory slots?
Any of those stay lit during the reboot issue?

Hello , i have just built the system in my signature and similar Ram by the sounds , i started on two sticks of ram and then went to 4 and couldn't get it to boot with Expo enabled , anyways after a couple of days i tried again and expo enabled with all 4 sticks and smooth at 6oooMhz , i am on beta bios F6f but they pulled it from the website now, something to do with Agesa 1004 apparently but just wondering if you are on 2 sticks or 4 and do you have expo enabled and which bios your using

WOW we do have very simlar setups :)

Both sets of ram were 2 sticks, one set was expo and the other was xmp.

I rebooted the PC about 8 times and twice it didn't boot and both had the same LED on, it looks like a VGA problem. I have used 2 cards in the board since and both had the same problem, a 6800xt and a 7900xtx.

Think I have found the problem

So I guess it could be a PCI express slot problem?

yes possibly , i was relieved when mine booted , a lot of expense and a lot that can go wrong , are you plugged straight into the slot or on a riser cable?

Can you try removing pcie card and test with the onboard?
Would confirm it’s the slot, doubt two faulty cards.

mine started initial boots with vga light on but then got around it itself somehow and been ok since , which bios do you have?

The plot thickens, , I would want to try another motherboard at this point but it’s a load of hassle and might be worth building it up outside the case to speed things up in your diagnosis

Suppose it could be the integrated gpu on the cpu causing problems.
Bad cpu or motherboard then, check all the pins in the cpu socket?

Yes thats what I was thinking after posting the video, integrated graphics or the motherboard.

I did get the motherboard and CPU from the same place, so I could send then the video and see what they say?

Just an update, I'm sending the motherboard and CPU back and they are going to test them for me. They seem to think it is the motherboard that has the problem, but I asked them to test both.

Which they were happy to do.
