X6800 or QX6700 for gaming?

my friend who's got an E6600 tested this. running E6600 at 3.2Ghz only added ~3FPS to STALKER performance(one of the most CPU intensive FPS)

Wouldn't that be down to the videocard aswell?.as OC the cpu will lift the bottleneck on the videocard if it is a gtx/gts/x2900.
 
Go for the Q6700 and put the saving towards the graphics card, big fast drives etc and maybe a really nice monitor, would be my advice
 
I got a QX6700 @ 3.2 and its smoking hot with my 8800GTX, if you got the cash spend it on the best i say. :p

Oh yeh and dont forget a nice raptor in that machine for them games.

Why spend the extra money on a Q6700 when you can get a Q6600 and clock it to the same as you could clock a Q6700?

he's running eVGA 8800GTX one of the factory overclocked version.
