Currently looking at this...though how do the asmedia SATA 6GB ports perform? It's a real shame that the board only has two intel SATA 6GB ports.

Deliberating over a 4770K + Asus MATX ROG Gene or a 4930K and the above board. Though I'm slightly put off by the ASMEDIA ports, depending on their performance.

ASmedia are poor sadly. But all the Intel ports perform well. I would use up all Intel ports before thinking about using ASmedia. Put your OS on the 6gb Intel and the X79 route is still a snappy storage option.

Hmm...essentially what I'm thinking of doing is ditching my current Corsair 800D/920/Asus P6X58D and going to a Corsair 350D. Just not entirely sure if I want the the quad or hex core chip!

How does that board compare to the newer Asus ROG Z87 MATX boards?

Not to hijack the thread but since we are talking about the same board it makes sense. Been looking at building a 4930k rig in the corsair 350d however just noticed this.

"NO ETA"? is the board being discontinued or just not sure when the next shipment is?

Isn't like there are many MATX 2011 boards that are even worth considering.
