Seriously thinking of getting an x1800xt to replace my current card as i'm also looking at replacing my 17" CRT with a 19" TFT. Thing is that most 19" TFT's i've looked at seem to have a native res of 1280x1024 which is what i currently play at on my crt and my sytem has no problems with BF2 etc on high settings. Is it worthwhile getting the above card if there wont be an increase in res? Or would i be just as well off sticking with what i have?

Cheers,
Zeph.

i believe you can get 19" TFT's with 1600x1200 resolution but they will cost abit more i think, but if you are just getting a 19" TFT with 1280x1024 and games are running fine then i'd just leave it for now.

EDIT - actually looking on ocuk there isnt a 19" LCD/TFT with 1600x1200 :(
there might be elsewhere im not really sure :o

Well i went from an x800 XT PE to an x1800 XT, and ive only got a 17" TFT thats native res is 1280x1024, and the performance increase is incredible, its worth it. :D

I think all 17-19" do 1280x1024 because of physical limitations or some such nonsense.

X1800XT will be a worthwhile upgrade especially in more demanding games.

PowerColor ATI Radeon X1800 XT 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-048-PC) £323.07

Sapphire ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-112-SP) £352.44

Hence are you not better jumping straight to X1900XT at these prices?
