The time has come for a new rig.
So far I'm looking at a 5930k (plans for SLI) unless there's any real need to use the newer Broadwell-E that I don't know about.
Also considering a full tower as my current rig is an ITX system and I'll be buggered if I'm going to mess about trying to squeeze everything into a case that size again. The Enthoo Primo full tower looks more than good enough, and unless there's a better case for the job I'll probably go with one, fan and controller options appreciated.
PSU will probably be in the 800-1000w range which while overkill right now will give me room to spare for future SLI implementation.
Cooling wise I'm thinking about going with either a 240 or 360 EKWB AIO for the CPU unless others would be a better option, GPU will be running on air for now (980ti ref. design) but may be plumbed in down the road.
Stumping me is motherboard choice, I like the look of the MSI XPower Titanium but it's on pre-order and I need the system up and running.
RAM wise, probably going up to 32GB as the 16GB in my current setup runs out every now and then.
Will definitely be going for at least a 256GB if not 512GB m2 Samsung SSD, already have mechanical drives.
The above is an outline of what I'm looking for, and as I said, the main stumping point is the motherboard, obviously the most expensive is the Asus R5 ed.10, but if there's a better board at a lower cost then I'd be a fool not to look for it.
You can probably get an idea of the budget I'm looking at, but it's fairly flexible, and if I get everything nailed down I'll be ordering before close of business today.
