would anyone out there be able to tell me if the following build has any potential issues? anything you'd replace?

the basics i've chosen are:

Corsair Air 240 Case
i7-5820K
Corsair H100i CPU Cooler
EVGA Micro 2 Mobo
16GB DDR4-2400 Memory
512gb SSD
EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB HYBRID
EVGA 850W PSU

it'll be my first time small-factor build - i'm looking for the potential to put in another 980ti next year so would the power/cooling be enough + would I have enough space for those hybrid cards?

thanks!

The thing with an Air 240 is, with a matx board, you can't put fans in the bottom blowing up to the GPU. That aside, I built my girlfriend new pc in one last month and it was perfect to build in. (she has an ITX mobo, so bottom mounted fans are no issue.)

I am trying to build a similar setup, here are my parts:

Corsair H100i CPU Cooler

Could be, but I hear they are bit noisy. Consider a Noctua NH-L9i for a quieter pc, at least I am.

Are you considering dual GPU in the future? If so I would get the 5930k instead.

Ram I feel is better to go for 16gb sticks, like this you can max it if needed..

are you sure? I must've gone through the 'air 240 owners club' thread on overclockers.net twice and pretty sure I saw some single gpu setups with 120mm fans on the bottom blowing up....

it's kind of a moot point anyway with me looking at the hybrid card anyway ;)

I'm almost settled on this now but may switch out the mobo as it's not got rave reviews

I have a similar build, I think you will struggle to house both an H100i and a separate 120mm rad for the GPU if using a m-ATX board. Unless you can fit the 120mm GPU rad in the back compartment under the SSD drive cage.
The thing I found with this case when using X99 platform is that there is a lot of heat to dump in a relatively small case volume. I originally ran an H100i with push / pull fans cooling my 5820K @4.2Ghz and it would touch 80c when stress testing. Now I have a custom loop fitted, but it still heats up a lot under load.

matty, nikumba thnx for the advice

I knew about the height/clearance next to the window so will watch out for that one. From what i've seen the evga hybrid is close to reference dimensions but will double check

as for the heat situation, that's an interesting point - x99 and 5820k is only £150/200 more than devils canyon. would you recommend going that route instead with this case?

No worries I have the OCUK 970GTX and the cable as they come out of hte power connectors need to be pushed over as they are in contact with window.

Really would love to know why they stopped putting the power connectors on the ends of the cards like they use to do.

I think the latest card that still does is the nano fury, or at least the one I saw reviewed. Agree it would be better in this case!

i've edited it out of my top post, would be nice to have a mods opinion on this unless i've missed something in the board faq?

It lists all of the cheaper places to buy from so I'd say so!

Sometimes this forum feels a bit like a communist regime, where you are not allowed to mention other ideology. I posted a pcpicker site, and yes the are website on the internet that sell computer parts.

I understand the spirit of this rule, but give me a break, is pcpicker not allowed?

What's difficult? OCUK are here to make money... They're protecting their interests. If you want to show a shopping basket full of parts then do it properly, download the browser add on and support OCUK.
