Ooh lalala .. look at that. Intel Haswell-E processors should arrive in the early September timeframe. The 6 and 8-core DDR4 based product will need to be paired
with a very nice motherboard. Well, it looks like MSI has made a dream build alright. Check it out, MSI released a picture of its all dark X99S SLI Plus on the

How does the release for new chipsets normally work? Do manufacturers generally release their top end motherboards first? Guesses for how long it will take for a sub £100 board to be released?

X79 been out a long time and don't think there any in that price range

X99 is 2011 bit I think its noted as gen3 the chips will physically fit in the same socket but are not compatible

Those heatsinks though

They are massive!
I think some motherboard manufacturers need to get away from Red+Black schemes now, maybe something like Blue/Black Orange/Black etc - add some more variety!

No they are not, they are no taller than the PCI slots otherwise GFX cards wouldnt sit properly and they are as big as X79 is as the PCH is a big die and makes a lot of heat.
