Xbox LIVE Dashboard update:

On Wednesday, January 19th we will issue a mandatory dashboard update that (re) enables the ‘Boot to Disc’ option in the Xbox 360 dashboard. After you accept the update, you’ll be able to set the option to boot to the Xbox 360 dashboard OR directly to the game you have in the tray when you power up your console. This option can be found in the System Settings.

Xbox.com update:

Additionally, on Thursday January 20th the Xbox.com team will ship an update that contains a small update to the Gamercards. We’ve updated the Gamercard look and feel a bit and removed gamerzone from the card. Other than that, the same amount of information is on the card.

No, it's not as if it has any baring on matchmaking which would be a logical conclusion.

Unfortunately the auto boot doesn't mean you can skip the Xbox dash. Double eject does work, but there doesn't seem to be much of a saving. It also failed to work the first time.

Sky player UI seems different, other than that all I know for definite is that they've added security checks onto some games to prevent piracy, plus all the gamercard stuff.

Should have got rid of the star rep rating as well. I've never seen anyone with less than the default 3. All it means if you've got 5 is you play online a lot. Not that people like playing with you. :)

Just read that yesterdays update humped anyone using pirate copies of black ops or modern warfare 2. Makes sense the update being 7mb now i guess.

Don't forget Halo Reach ;)

Yeah I'd like to see how much the sales figures go up this week for MW2 and BOPs.

Good time to sell second hand. ;)

Afaik even if said person were to buy the original that also would not work as the protection on the disc still detects a dodgy drive which then stops the game from working.
