XBMC library update

What do you all find is the easiet way to update your XBMC TV series and Movie folder?

There only seems to be a update on startup option. I leave my XBMC on 24/7 so thats not a good option.

I have a button mapped to do it on my remote. You should be able to do the same?

It's 2 years since I set this up so I can't remember in detail how all the config files link together, but from a quick look it seems to be a function called XBMC.updatelibrary(video)

context-click the directory, scan for new content
or, update XBMC library in sickbeard

If you use a remote then use a combination of keymapedit and showkey to hook up a button on your remote that you don't use. This is what I did.

Once I found those bits of software it took 5 mins to get it all sorted. I also use sickbeard too for it. Now I don't have it doing a scan on start up.
