Just set up my Live account, and I started to play COD2.

Game hung about 2 minutes into training.
Then thought i'd try it on its side. Hung after 30seconds

Any ideas?

Tis on carpet yes :(

I'll put it on the glass TV stand. Will that be better?
Block is already ventilated

Well thing just hung again, with the block ventilated and the Xbox360 on the glass TV stand (flat not standing)..

anymore ideas??

What the hell am I going to do during summer then?

This thing will be going back if this continues :(

Well windows have been flung open. Will let the temperature drop a bit, then try again :(

I played Condemned for 10 minutes no problems. So could it be a problem with the COD2 disc??

Is there no chance it could be the game?
Especially if Codemned works fine..

I have a 2nd copy of COD2 here that I bought from Game (I bought it first, then bought a cheaper copy at Tesco). So I could try it out.. would mean breaking the shrink wrap though :D

Come to think of it, my Xbox360 had been in the car all day, so was probably very cold. Will keep trying!

Got the 2nd version of COD2 to try now!

Nope, 2nd copy of COD2 just hung.. so that's the disc eliminated!

Will try again after dinner, then i'm getting it swapped :(

leave the dashboard on and running for a while the console will be warm but not hot from stress from playing a game. Let it warm up for a while then try, i left mine in my room for a few hrs as it was freezing when i got it.

Will leave it going while I have my dinner.

I've realised my Woolies receipt says I can return if the item is faulty.. might just do that rather than have the hassle of MS collecting it.

Well I've just played 20mins of Condemned, without any problems.

About to try COD2 again...
Failing this, Woolies will be getting this back on Saturday :(

Gota be something strange going on there with the 360, Condemned works fine, yet 2x copies of COD2 have crashed on it, if the 2nd copy of COD2 worked fine, then yeah dodgy disc, but not 2x copies surely, id definately take it back, COD2 should work on it, lots of other ppl are playing it fine.

Very strange.
Is COD2 more graphically intense somehow than Condemned?

Yeah I did try it this morning, no luck.
If I'd done some serious damage, then surely Condemned would have problems too?

I've just rung Woolworths, and they'll refund no questions, and they might have another in stock today! :D

Fridays are stock days for most companies, which is quite fortunate. I really hope you get lucky with this.

I'm at work today that's the problem.
The real issue is persuading my Dad to go down town for me to buy the new console. Then I can take my busted one back on Saturday. :p

Good news! Rang Woolies, and they have one more Premium left. They said they'll put it asside, and I can come in and do a direct swap tomorrow morning!

This time i'll take it home, leave it to warm up, then hopefully I'll be away! :D

Well picked up my replacement Xbox 360 this morning, and so far so good!

Managed to play around 10 minutes of COD2 and no signs of a crash!
And Condemned is still working A ok. :D

Well now that mine's working perfectly, I would definately recommend it!

Just bought my Wireless adaptor, so now I'm Xbox Live'ing it up :D

Just to add to the other comments, sure my first console had a problem, but the second one works fine, and it was well worth the trouble of getting it swapped!

I'm going to find it quite hard to go back to my PS2 (or PC for that matter!!) now.
