Xbox 360 component cable - Microsoft one the best?

Hi guys,

A mate has lent me his 360 component cable, not a Microsoft one but it is gold plated. Unfortunately it gives a weird shadowy / offset image which the VGA cable doesn't.

I want to use a component cable for the 360 so that VGA can be used by my laptop on my telly, do you know if the MS component cable is the best one to go for?

Official is always the way to go. There are some good 3rd party ones buts its best not to take the risk.

Offical both for component and VGA is the way to go.

iv tried the joytech one and it isnt as good as the MS one, i believe monster do a nice high end one in the states, premium price tag though

Just go with the MS one. There's a noticeable decrease in quality/sharpness when using the joytech one.

I have a third party one and get the effect you describe, only noticable in dark scenes really. I have never got around to replacing it because it doesn't annoy me that much.

Personally, I wouldn't even think about a non-official one. The others are not that bad, just not worth the minor saving.
